Photo taken August 2, 2007 @ 3:28 PM.As you can see it’s still there. Doesn’t bacteria grow and mutate a lot faster during hot weather?
Also notice that across the street is the side entrance to City Hall. I wonder how long this diaper would stay on one of its windowsills?

Yeah, I recognise the locale of that pic. Used to live a coupla doors down in a junky rental on Miller St., across from the post office. That building on the corner, I think, had commercial offices in it. Its the old conundrum of "the renters don't care and the owners aren't there."
Back in the 70's there were abundant trash cans around the downtown area, presenting an opportunity for people to dispose of waste in a civilized manner. Try to find a trash can when you need one now - are there any at all? It all comes down to $ and (mis)priorities.
The person who deposited the diaper is the real slob, the building owner is a secondary slob for not checking their property, and the city is the tertiary slob for not really caring what goes on while trash rots for weeks on the streets. Hmmm... three levels of responsibility and the diaper sits and rots...can anyone spell PRIDE?
FYI, I'm the Anonymous who whacked you about negativity a few weeeks ago. Reading the counter-comment and counter-blog, I understand your motivations much better. I still think there are positive aspects about the 'Burgh (history, architecture, culture) and your blog is somewhat slanted, but hey, make your points dude. I'm lucky enough to not live there anymore so I can romanticize the place. You have to tiptoe through the Tampax on the sidewalk every day, so its your call...
The pics of the hacienda style building on City Hall place were nice.
Keep it goin...

I appreciate the feedback. I don't know who owns the building but usually it's clean around there. That's why I was suprised to see the diaper. As you can see from a later post, the diaper is gone, so maybe the property owner or the city finally decided to remove it before it exploded from the hot sun. A agree about the trashcans: a few more wouldn't hurt. But the lack of cans is no excuse to be a pig.
