ATTN: Press-Republican

An inconsiderate dog owner left a story lead in your driveway yesterday. It’s still there this evening. Will you have to step in it to realize that there’s a chronic problem plaguing Plattsburgh that needs to be addressed?

Recently you published an article with pics of your staff saving ducklings that fell into a storm drain near your offices. Commendable rescue effort.

But nature ain’t cute all the time.

The problem we have in Plattsburgh is its pedestrian-unfriendly nature.

How many people in the PR actually walk around downtown? Or ride their bikes?

On the other hand, maybe the freedom to crap as they please is an altruistic benefit being bestowed upon the dogs? I think the "leaders" of our fair city harbor a secret love for "doggish" behavior. The corner of Miller St and City Hall Pl would be ideal for the installation of a public "facility". Urinals and toilets bolted directly to the exterior wall of City Hall?

It seems most PR people - especially the editors - are confined to either the office or their cars. I see Fox 44 TV news crews from across the lake in downtown Plattsburgh much more than any PR staffers.

Time for the PR crew to get out of that protective bubble on Margaret Street - at least long enough to pick up the dogshit that was still there Sunday evening.
