As I reported a while ago a flower and milkweed garden hear Champlain Monument was mowed down. You can see where it was in the lawn photo, the patchy area. There remained a sign describing Native American plants but that is now missing.
That garden bed was vital to all sorts of insects especially monarch butterflies, an endangered species. A second garden closer to the monument remains (so far) where monarchs can still fuel up with nectar.
