PLATTSBURGH CITY, NY - 7/20/25
I'm downtown taking a photo when a woman behind me asks if I'm shooting through the windows across the street.
No.
"Then what are you taking pictures of?"
That car over there.
I walk away to return home and grab my tripod to take extreme closeups of flowers. As I'm walking across the street towards some day lilies that same woman yells at me.
"Are you a pedophile?"
I turn around and give her a definite No.
Why did she ask if I was a pedophile? Apparently it was the car photo I had taken earlier.
I set up my tripod, concentrating on the flowers. High magnification means verry thin depth of field. The area in focus can be only 1 millimeter in depth. Also the slightest breeze can ruin the shot, a blurry flower.
Suddenly the same woman is next to me. "Why are you photographing flowers?"
Because they're ugly.
I continue to concentrate on setting up my shot.
She finally got the hint and left.
I managed to get some good shots.
