Painting A Message Of Hope

An important message has been painted across the front windows of Chapter One Coffee & Tea as part of a suicide prevention program. Painter Anika Fullum of Associated Artistries puts the finishing touches on 988, a telephone/text number that offers help for people in crisis.

As part of a suicide awareness program intern artist Abbigail Owen paints mention of the select drinks offered this month at Chapter One Coffee & Tea.  You Matter-A-Latte drinks will contribute funds to the Clinton County NY Coalition To Prevent Suicide.  The list of specialty lattes is behind the front counter.

It's Starting

When I’m walking around with my camera and minding my own business occasionally someone has to bother me.

This evening I was standing on the sidewalk, changing my camera’s battery, when a drunk walked up to me. Apparently he made a decision without asking about my political viewpoint after Trump’s victory.

He said: “You liberals are dying out. You got your asses kicked.” Then he staggered off.

Yes, low IQ alcoholics really know what is going on.

Airbag Jacket Protects Motorcyclist

Inside a motorcyclist airbag jacket is a CO2 cartridge that activates in milliseconds, the released gas inflating the jacket during an accident.  This particular model uses a tether between the jacket and the motorcycle that when pulled triggers the impact absorbing safety cushion.

Hungry For Work

As part of the construction project to replace the entrance at the Plattsburgh Public Library the front steps are closed for demolishment and replacement.  Access to the building is being provided with a temporary ramp on the Brinkerhoff Street side. The construction machine in the photo seems to be ravenous.
