Dog Watch Day 48 – Does It Have To Sparkle To Be Shoveled?
Snow and ice are cleared away but this pile is still there. Apparently the person who shovels the sidewalk makes sure not to disturb this disgusting dump.
You'd reckon that if it's in snow for any appreciable amount of time, it will harden, and thus not be too messy to remove. Maybe the shoveller liked the manure there for aesthetic reasons.
Actually, instead of fossilizing, the stuff was been moisturized during the warmer weather by rain and the cold weather seems to be only preserving that disgusting dump.
If you will note from the headline, that particular pile has been there for 48 days. If you have the chance, go back to previous posts where you will see I've been bitching about the chronic problem of uncurbed dogs for years.
Some time ago the city Common Common Council addressed the dog shit problem. During that meeting one person said he had been to New York City during the weekend and he didn't as much canine crap there as he sees around Plattsburgh.
Also note that the image was taken on a main street sidewalk near a restuarant. If you were visiting here, would you like to see that? Would it whet your appetite?
I know you're just joking when you mention about aesthetic reasons reasons for leaving the waste unshoveled. I also joke about the problem, but please keep in mind that behind the joke is some serious intent.
