Local SPCA Asks For Help With Rescued Kittens

PLATTSBURGH, NY   7/14/13

The Elmore SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has requested through a recent news release for donations to provide for sick kittens rescued from a local pet shop.

Elmore SPCA seeks the following items:

-- small disposable pie plates to use for food and water

-- large disposable baking tins to use for litter pans

    -- dry kitten chow

    -- dry cat food

    -- wet canned cat food

    -- non-clumping, non-scoopable cat litter

-- financial support for medications, vaccinations, continuous testing, and vet fees

According to shelter manager Rebecca Burdo many of the kittens suffer from various ailments including ring worm, mites, and upper respiratory infections.  The kittens have to be kept in isolation until they are healthy and so will not be adoptable for some time.

Donations can be made in person at Elmore SPCA, 556 Telegraph Road, Peru and also at Rescued Treasures, 37 Clinton Street, Plattsburgh.   For more information go to the Website, www.elmorespca.org .  You may also make monetary donations online at that site or by postal mail: Elmore SPCA, PO Box 656, Peru, NY 12972.  The shelter can also be reached by calling 518-643-2451 .
